Ardh means half, and gulabi means pink. Each shape is half a circle, and they alternate direction along every row — one curving up, the next curving down. The rows sit close together, so the pattern covers the whole rug rather than sitting as a motif on an open ground.
Jute is a coarse plant fibre with a warm brown cast of its own, which pulls the pink towards a dusty, earthy tone rather than leaving it clean and bright. The rug feels firm and textured underfoot.
