A handwoven flatweave in soft pink with a single fine line in earthy brown running across it.
Lakir means line, and mitti means earth. The pink is the field and the brown is the interruption, so the rug reads lighter across a room while the line still holds it together. Hand-spun wool takes dye unevenly, and pink shows this more openly than brown does — the tone shifts slightly from one band of weaving to the next. Weavers call this abrash, and it is the clearest sign a rug was spun and dyed by hand rather than by machine.
