Lakir means line. One stripe, off-centre, and nothing else — the rug is built around that single interruption. The brown base is not one flat colour: hand-spun wool takes dye unevenly, so the tone shifts slightly from one band of weaving to the next. Weavers call this abrash, and it is the clearest sign a rug was spun and dyed by hand rather than by machine.
